90kg Rice Challenge (November 2018)

Our Pupil Business and Charity Leaders are involved in a project in which they sell fair trade rice so that the money can be given to a Rice farmer who grow the rice in Malawi. We bought 90 bags of rice which sells for £3 per bag. £270 (total cost) pays for a child to go to school for a whole year. Our pupils who know about the UNISEF’s Rights of the Child- believe that every child has the right to an education and understand that Education is the gateway out of poverty.

We sold all the bags of rice in Friday Assemblies, a stall after school and at the Christmas Fair.
